Combining my love of songwriting and homes, I am slowly renovating a Picton property to become not only the perfect year round cottage but to also double as a wonderful vacation rental for songwriters and artists looking for a place to write, vacation and escape. This is very much a passion project that becomes a little more real each year and it is something I hope to complete in the next 2-3 years.
After spending almost a decade dreaming of home ownership and saving religiously, it seemed that owning a home in Toronto was still way out of reach. Although I had spent one weekend in Prince Edward County when my kids were very little, I had not been back for years, though I remember having had great memories of the trip. I am not sure what led me to get in the car one morning, five years ago, and set out to meet with a real estate agent in Picton, but I did, and with certainty I felt this was where I needed to buy a house. This was before the County seemed to be splashed on the cover of Toronto Life, and probably just after the Drake Devonshire and some chic landmarks were going in, but before there was any buzz. At the time it was what I could afford, which wasn't a lot, and I figured that if I could rent it out, and cover my mortgage, it would (hopefully) be okay. That April morning in 2016, started me on another journey (real estate and rentals) that along with music has become a huge passion. I never imagined how much joy renovating would bring me, but seeing spaces transform is so inspiring. I hope to share before and after photos and my passion projects that keep me looking at Pinterest in the wee hours of the night and keep my creativity flowing along with songwriting <3
